i just bought a new saltwater tank and it says to rinse the sand..how should we go about doing this? the tank is empty. No water or sand has been added.

I have a 55 gallon saltwater reef tank with live rock, live sand, and anemones What are some good starter fish for my saltwater tank, and what are some good fish that can go together. For example, freshwater has community fish like mollys and neons, and semi aggressive fish like angels and silver dollars, then aggressive fish like Oscars. So i guess wat im asking is what fish belong to what group so i can decide what group id like to have in my tank.

I want to buy a 90g saltwater tank and get rid of my two smaller tanks, but I rent my place so I’ll have to move at some point… Just wondering if anyone had experience moving such a large saltwater tank.

Do not include price of the stand, as I have many just laying around, as I used to have ALOT more fish. I have been involved in fish keeping for atleast 15 years and have always kept freshwater fish. I feel I have learned and kept all the freshwater fish perfectly, and I would now like to venture into keeping a saltwater tank. I would like corals, live rock, live sand, anenomes, and fish. I believe this is called a reef tank. I have no idea if I need a protien skimmer, sump, or what kind of lighting. I know lighting is very expensive for a reef tank. I would like to keep a species of clownfish or lionfish. I want as large of a tank as possible with my budget. Any advise you can give me would be great. I have been reading up of saltwater tanks and reef tanks for about a week or so. I am going to do PLENTY of research, lol. I really don’t want to screw this one up. Thank you very much!

I have a 40 gallon tank and im going to make it a saltwater tank. I want to do a FOWLR tank with aggressive fish. I just want your opinion on what aggressive fish you would put in this tank? Thanks!

I brought a 125 gallon saltwater tank. It came with a wet/dry filter, overflown to sump, 1500 GPH pump, power head and etc. It is very dirty and has salt and algea. I want to transfer my freshwater discuss, neon tetras, pleco into this tank. My concern is the discuss fish. Can they live in this system? Is the wet/dry filter appropriate for them? How do I go about cleaning the tank? Any advices are welcome.

I’ve recently gotten very interested in having/caring for pet fish. I had a Betta for the past 13 months, it just died however. So now I’m thinking about looking into getting a saltwater tank, but I’m not sure how much maintenance they require. How difficult is it to keep a saltwater tank? What advice would you give?

The main thing I’m worried about is cleaning the tank. My betta tank seemed to acquire algae really fast and I would end up having to spend like 3-4 hours cleaning it every couple of weeks. How hard is it to keep a saltwater tank clean? Are there any types of saltwater fish or plants that help reduce algae buildup? Thanks for your help!

I have a 55- gallon saltwater tank with a few large pieces of live rock and a couple damsels. I noticed the other day on some of my live rock this very small thing (looks kinda like a feather duster) that kept popping in and out of a very small hole on the side of my live rock. What could it be? Is it bad? And how did it get there?

hey guys just have a question about what more can i do for my saltwater tank as far as filtration goes. i have a 55ga. tank with a 60ga. filter, 40ga filter, and a 20ga filter, also a 60 ga. protein skimmer. Is there any thing else that maybe i can add that might be helpful? All my levels in the tank are great i’m not having trouble or anything i’m just wondering if there might be somthing else that might help i’m thinking about getting a powerhead but i’m not sure what kind to get?

I found this tank on the internet and it can have saltwater in it. I have always wanted a saltwater tank and want to try this tank. The oly problem is that I cant find any type of fish that will live in a 3 gallon tank.
